How to Apply:
  1. Complete and submit the 2023-2024 Golden State Teacher Grant Application.
  2. Students need to utilize their first and last name that match your high school/college records on the application. If your name has changed, go to the grant website for instructions on how to update it.
  3. Please select Preliminary Teaching Credential under “Credential you are pursuing”.
  4. Please select Teachers College of San Joaquin under the “Preliminary Teaching Credential from Eligible List”. If a student selects a different college or program, their name won’t appear on the Teachers College’s applicant list. 5. Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or CA Dream Act Application for the 2023-2024 academic year. When selecting a school, select a 4-year institution such as University of the Pacific or CSU Stanislaus. Teachers College is NOT listed as an option.
  6. Once the FAFSA is complete and finalized, download the Student Aid Report (SAR) and email the report to scalderone@sjcoe.net.
Grant Process Steps:

The processing of the 2023-2024 awards begins August 2023 and all communication related to the grant will be sent to the students’ teacherscollegesj.edu email address.

  1. We will review the student’s application and confirm eligibility for the grant after their program has commenced.
  2. Once eligibility and enrollment verification are complete, the student will receive an email advising that the Service Agreement from the California State Aid Commission (CSAC) is ready for review and signature. The Service Agreement needs to be signed within 30 days of enrollment verification or the application may be voided.
  3. If awarded, Teachers College will receive the recipients first check within 7-9 weeks after completion of the Service Agreement and request for grant funding by Teachers College. Please be aware that grant funds will be disbursed in two separate semester checks during the 2023-24 academic year.
