Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave

Due to district need and request, Teachers College of San Joaquin (TCSJ) is offering its Pre-Service graduates a professional development opportunity to enable them to meet the Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave (TPSL) focused preparation requirement.

TCSJ Pre-Service graduates who attend one 2-hour session on Local Context, will be issued a Certificate of Completion for TPSL preparation. The Certificate of Completion meets one of the requirements set forth by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) to acquire the TPSL permit.

The TPSL permit is intended to prepare the permit holder for service as the interim teacher of record beyond 20 or 30 days (CCTC Coded Correspondence, 16-10).

WHO is this session for?

Current and prospective substitute teachers who have successfully completed TCSJ's Pre-Service program, are in good financial standing, and want to meet the TPSL preparation hours requirement necessary to be TPSL permit eligible.

Please submit your completed registration form to the TCSJ Admissions Department at tcsjadmissions@sjcoe.net or via FAX at (209) 468-9124.
