Promise of Innovation Award Application

Applications now being accepted for the 2019-20 school year!

WHAT

Are you a TCSJ student wanting to implement something innovative in your classroom but short on resources? TCSJ wants to inspire you to think differently, be creative, design novel curriculum and activities, and ultimately increase student learning and achievement through a $500-$1,000 mini-grant!

The Promise of Innovation Award is unique in that it honors teachers for being innovative and meeting the needs of their students in unimagined ways. Successful applicants will submit projects that align with TCSJ’s mission of rigorous, collaborative and innovative instruction and emphasize college and career readiness initiatives, such as 21st Century Skills, Common Core Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards. Award winners will contribute to the knowledge base of local leaders and educators in the region by sharing their projects and findings.

HISTORY

The Promise of Innovation Awards were established in 2015 through a grant from the Intrepid Philanthropy Foundation. Since that time, TCSJ, in collaboration with the SJCOE Educational Foundation, has continued to expand its base of financial support so that more TCSJ teachers can benefit from this opportunity to pursue teaching innovations and non-traditional lesson plans and projects that are not funded within their current school budget.
