ABOUT THE COURSE

RICA Prep 101 is a comprehensive, self-guided course that gives you everything you need to pass while fitting into your schedule. All domains, competencies, and written responses (including the case study) are covered through a variety of engaging and visual lessons. Students are also invited to participate in live workshop sessions to clarify their understanding.

Students will complete the following requirements throughout the course:

• RICA Test Structure (30 min)
• The Nitty Gritty of Reading Development (1 hour)
• Subtest 1 (6 hours)
  • Domain 2 – Word Analysis
  • Domain 3 – Fluency
  • Constructed Responses
  • Deconstructed Sample Test for Subtest 1
  • Worksheets & Homework
• Subtest 2 (4 hours)
  • Domain 4 – Vocabulary, Academic Language, and Background Knowledge
  • Domain 5 – Comprehension
  • Constructed Responses
  • Deconstructed Sample Test for Subtest 2
  • Worksheets & Homework
• Subtest 3 (4 hours)
  • Domain 1 – Planning, Organizing, and Managing Reading Instruction Basic on Ongoing
