ABOUT THE COURSE

Magma’s Teacher Innovation Lab program is a semester-long course for those looking to enhance their teaching practices using EdTech tools. We will spend time discussing how to use EdTech to increase student creativity, promote mathematical discourse, and how to use data to inform personalized instruction and supports.

During the course we will spend time learning from teachers on multiple continents about how they increase student authority using EdTech in the following ways: exit tickets and formative assessment, student-led data talks, ‘My Favorite No’ and other discussion strategies, and supports for SPED and EL students through EdTech.

PRIMARY LEARNING OUTCOMES AND/OR COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Design a lesson using EdTech to support best teaching practices
  • Use EdTech to increase student discourse and encourage multiple methods of solving
  • Create formative assessments and collect data which informs whole class and individual instruction
