The DBQ Project
The DBQ Project was founded in 2000 to support teachers and students in learning to read smart, think straight, and write more clearly. As teachers, we believe all students can develop high-level critical thinking skills if they have consistent instruction and a chance to practice. We also believe that when we provide teachers with materials that blend educational best practices and content-specific questions, we promote and support transformational change in our schools. Our professional development workshops and materials have transformed the way school districts across the U.S. comply with state and national standards in language arts and social studies classrooms.
Retro Report
Retro Report is an independent nonprofit news organization producing short documentary journalism and educational resources that help people understand today’s events through the lens of history. Our AI Academy gives your third-through-fifth graders a 36-week AI literacy and vibe coding curriculum on Chromebooks they already have. One contract, four ELOP pillars, zero specialized staff required. We built this in the Central Valley for California kids.

Don Bott Teaches
I am an author and educational consultant with more than four decades of classroom experience as a high school English teacher and instructional coach in Stockton schools. I’ve published a wide range of articles as well as a collection of inspirational stories about my teaching days. I have presented across a dozen states over 30-plus years. I can come to a school or district to speak or work with a cohort of teachers on a specific need (writing instruction, increasing rigor, etc.). I also have experience with scholastic journalism/school publications, WASC preparation, instructional techniques and much more.

Sound Pedagogy
Sound Pedagogy is an instructional intelligence platform that helps schools turn everyday classroom practice into actionable insight. By combining classroom audio analysis, walkthrough evidence, and AI-supported coaching, Sound Pedagogy provides educators and leaders with a clearer picture of instructional patterns that are often invisible in traditional observation systems. The platform translates this evidence into practical feedback, strategy suggestions, and leadership insights that support professional growth. Designed to build trust and reflection rather than evaluation, Sound Pedagogy helps districts strengthen teaching practice, align professional learning, and drive meaningful instructional improvement.
