Adding an Authorization or Teaching Area to an existing CA Teaching Credential
The Teachers College of San Joaquin provides programs for individuals who hold a California teaching credential and desire to acquire a new California teaching credential or expand their existing credential with a new authorization.

Mathematics Instructional Added Authorization

I have a valid CA teaching credential and want to teach mathematics content up to Algebra One/Integrated One in a departmentalized setting.

Early Childhood Special Education Added Authorization

I have a valid Education Specialist teaching credential and want to work with young children from birth through kindergarten in a SPED setting.

Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization

I have a valid Education Specialist teaching credential and need an Autism authorization to teach students with Autism.

Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential

I have a valid CA Single Subject Teaching credential and am interested in earning a multiple subject credential.

Single Subject Teaching Credential

I have a valid CA Single Subject or Multiple Subject Teaching credential and want to add a Single Subject Content Area.

Designated Subjects/Career Technical Education Industry Sector

I have a valid CA Single Subject or Multiple Subject Teaching credential and want to earn a Designated Subjects (CTE) credential.

MMSN or
ESN

I have a “bridged” Education Specialist credential and need to earn a Mild to Moderate Support Needs or Extensive Support Needs credential.
