Program Details
Launchpad is Teachers College of San Joaquin’s newest program, designed specifically for educators who are already in classrooms and need support now.

The program consists of two 2-unit courses totaling 60 hours of just-in-time, practical instruction. Content is grounded in the California Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and culturally responsive practice.

Launchpad is accessible and affordable, with flexible online delivery designed for working educators. It can be taken as a standalone program or as an on-ramp to TCSJ’s full credential pathway, with coursework applicable as pre-service credit.
  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) from a regionally accredited institution
  • Certificate of Clearance or valid document issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing

TCSJ offers Launchpad every semester online on a “first come first serve” basis.

Submitting an application:
  • Step 1: Visit our application portal at apply.teacherscollegesj.edu.
  • Step 2: Create an Account
  • Step 3: Once you account is set up, login and create your application
  • Step 4: Complete all tabs within the application (and upload all required documents)
  • Step 5: Pay the non-refundable application fee
  • Step 6: Submit your application!

Once you submit your application, we recommend you log back into the portal regularly to check for any application updates.

EDUC 110 Launchpad: Foundational Tech-Enabled Teaching
This course prepares pre-credential educators to navigate the intersection of technology, equity, and effective teaching in California’s diverse classrooms. Candidates are introduced to the California Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs) framework to design learning environments that meet the needs of all students. Through the lenses of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), candidates will explore how digital tools can increase curriculum access, foster student interaction, and provide authentic assessment within a climate of caring, respect, and fairness. A strong emphasis is placed on leveraging students’ cultural and linguistic assets as the foundation for that climate.

EDUC 111 Launchpad: Foundations of Literacy and Data-Driven Instruction
The course prepares pre-credential educators to support literacy development across all disciplines and grade levels, with a focus on foundational reading skills. Candidates will explore the cyclical process of planning, teaching, assessing, and analyzing student work within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) model, examining curriculum, instruction, interventions, progress monitoring, and data-driven decision making. Emphasis is placed on standards-based lessons incorporating Universal Design for Learning (UDL), as well as accommodations and modifications for diverse learners. Candidates will also examine how varied assessment approaches support progress monitoring and inform instructional decision making.

Please be aware that enrollment in the program is on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage applicants to submit a COMPLETED application and pay the enrollment deposit ASAP to secure their chosen cohort.*

Cohort 1: Monday/Tuesday 5-8pm

  • EDUC 110: August 3 through October 12
  • EDUC 111: August 4 through October 13

Cost for both courses is $1,140.
