About This Course

This 10-module professional learning experience invites educators to explore the essential theories of child development and their direct implications for classroom practice, as framed by the 2024 California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP). Designed for traditional TK–6 teachers, this course bridges developmental science with pedagogical reflection, offering tools to create inclusive, responsive, and developmentally attuned learning environments.

Each two-hour module blends theory, case studies, and CSTP-aligned strategies, empowering educators to reframe student behavior, deepen instructional decisions, and cultivate whole child teaching practices. Participants will leave with a renewed understanding of how children grow — cognitively, emotionally, socially, and linguistically — and how educators can meet them with empathy, precision, and purpose.
