Catlin Tucker
From Teacher-led Information Transfer to Student-led Discovery
This course empowers educators to move beyond traditional, teacher-led instruction by embracing a more student-centered approach to learning. Grounded in the principles of Universal Design for Learning and blended learning, it explores how to design lessons that prioritize discovery, engagement, and student agency. Educators will learn to shift the workflow in their classrooms using strategies like reciprocal teaching with multimedia, the Jigsaw strategy, and “Hook the Group.” Each lesson provides practical tools to reduce teacher overload, reengage students, and cultivate classrooms where learners take the lead in making meaning.
